The world-famous Haynes Manual
An iconic product with a timeless quality
Technical data at our heart
Professionalising car repairs and creating customer loyalty
HaynesPro’s full set of automotive technical data, which includes vehicle identification, maintenance data, repair times, repair manuals, electronics diagnostics (VESA), service bulletins and known fixes, is fully integrated inside the WM/TROST REPDOC catalogue. The integration of technical data inside the REPDOC catalogue, allows the workshops, to accurately identify, maintain, diagnose and repair, all popular vehicle brands available in the European market. By providing data integrated in an on-line catalogue, workshops can easily create a maintenance or repair quote for a specific vehicle and simply order the parts needed with a simple mouse-click.
Optimizing the quotation and parts ordering process with integrated data not only facilitates the sale of parts but also helps to reduce costs of faulty ordered parts, resulting in significant cost saving for the parts distributor through reduction of shipments costs and revalidation and restocking costs. Providing the workshop a “one-stop-shop” solution where the technical data is fully integrated, allows WM/TROST to create significant added value for the workshop, resulting in increased customer loyalty and higher recurring revenues.

OATS - streamlining lubricant data in 80+ countries
Providing vehicle and machine lubricant data to manufacturers
OATS supplies Morris Lubricants with vehicle and machine lubricant data from which Morris is able to streamline their product offering in international markets. Generally speaking, all vehicles and machines need lubrication, even electric vehicles, for example, need oil for the brake hydraulics. Vehicles are being used in different operating conditions all over the world. A dump truck operating in Alaska’s cold harsh temperatures will need different oil from the same dump truck operating in Saudi Arabia’s scorching desert.
Gathering and keeping all this data up-to-date can be a challenge for lubricant manufacturers which is why they need a company like OATS, whose database of over 100,000 pieces of equipment relates to over 800,000 compartments. Lubricant manufacturers use OATS’s services for matching equipment lubricant specifications, region-based product offering and market & product analysis. OATS also helps Morris Lubricants’ customers answer the question: “What oil do I need for my car?” via an online search tool and vehicle registration mark (VRM).

Moving MOT Data into the 21st Century
From wall posters to bespoke data interfaces
Historically, Halfords Autocentres had supplied their UK workshops with two content-rich ‘MOT’ posters per site, providing essential advisory information to their technicians relevant to the MOT test. The ongoing issues Halfords Autocentres had to contend with was the increasing cost or print & delivery of the posters, and the limited ability to provide new content with posters only being updated on an annual basis.
HaynesPro in the UK consulted with the Halfords Autocentres team to understand the constraints of delivering data via posters. From 2019 onwards MOT posters were removed from the Autocentre network and replaced with a bespoke user interface developed by our HaynesPro team in the UK, giving Technicians the ability to access MOT data in a real-time environment.
Providing this service via an online solution, resulted in cost savings by removing print and delivery costs, and giving the Technician direct access to live MOT data that is kept up to date 24 hours per day.
Bike Repair Guide
The best selling book, is now also a Smartphone app
The Haynes Bike Book has sold over 1 million copies, and the app is a brand extension that builds upon what is in the book and adds even more depth. The Bike Repair Guide is available on Apple and Android devices, produced in partnership with BikeRadar. It is a comprehensive bike repair and maintenance manual for riders who are passionate about their bike’s well being. Dozens of videos, more than 50 step-by-step guides, emergency roadside fixes, and pro tips are all included.
The app is updated every month with new content, ensuring it remains completely up-to-date.
Improving ROI on marketing campaigns
Helping a fast-fit garage chain provide targeted communications
Fast-fit garages utilise various delivery mechanisms to engage with existing customers through targeted marketing. One of the largest obstacles is ensuring data is up to date and accurate. Sending an ‘MOT’ reminder to a customer who no longer owns the vehicle is one example of where targeted marketing can have a negative effect.
One UK-wide fast-fit chain is utilising the vehicle knowledge and expertise of the HaynesPro UK team to ensure targeted marketing campaigns are accurate. Before they embark on a campaign a vehicle file is shared with the HaynesPro UK team. The file is edited with key data appended that confirms if a vehicle has been sold, exported or scrapped. The fast-fit chain is now sending less marketing material, which decreases unnecessary cost, and with more focused marketing material, ensures a higher return on marketing spend.
