Historically, Halfords Autocentres had supplied their UK workshops with two content-rich ‘MOT’ posters per site, providing essential advisory information to their technicians relevant to the MOT test. The ongoing issues Halfords Autocentres had to contend with was the increasing cost or print & delivery of the posters, and the limited ability to provide new content with posters only being updated on an annual basis.
HaynesPro in the UK consulted with the Halfords Autocentres team to understand the constraints of delivering data via posters. From 2019 onwards MOT posters were removed from the Autocentre network and replaced with a bespoke user interface developed by our HaynesPro team in the UK, giving Technicians the ability to access MOT data in a real-time environment.
Providing this service via an online solution, resulted in cost savings by removing print and delivery costs, and giving the Technician direct access to live MOT data that is kept up to date 24 hours per day.
